Basketball Autographed By Teams, Players Best With COA
Regardless of which sport you like, collecting autographed memorabilia and other items is one of the best ways to show you are a true fan. Getting a basketball autographed by your favorite player is a great way to start.
My favorite sport is basketball and I have been trying to collect as many different items as possible. The first basketball autograph I got had me hooked. Some people like to collect items like game worn merchandise, others simply stick to easy items like cards and other things. I like to get autographed items.
My goal is to get at least one basketball autographed by all the teams of the NBA. So far I have managed to get most, but I still have a couple more to go to reach my goal of getting every team to autograph a basketball. In order to be complete I need to get every one of the players on the team to sign the ball. This does not mean that I need all the players who have ever played for the team, but just all the players on one team in a single year.
Of some importance to me is finding important seasons and getting autographs from those years. Championship runs are by far my favorite, and I have both a ball from the great Lakers and Celtics teams of the 1980s. These, next to my basketball autographed by the Chicago Bulls ball from the early 90s, are my most cherished possessions.
I have taken the time to get COA on all three of those balls. Having a COA, or certificate of authenticity, goes a long way towards protecting the value of your basketball autographs. Without this it is very difficult to prove that your item is not a fake. I try to get COAs for all the items I have and I will only purchase items with one. If you are looking to start a collection it is highly recommended that you only start with items that have been proven to be real autographed sports memorabilia. You can start without them, but you must consider this collection to only be a personal one as getting any real value out of these items will be nearly impossible.
The best thing to do to really increase the value of your collection is first make sure everything is certified as authentic. Second thing is to make sure that your basketball autograph collection is focused this way you can become an expert in one field while at the same time increasing its overall value.
